The product comes in a rectangular box combining black and green, typical of Vaporesso’s recent packaging design. The top of the box displays the brand name, with a striking image of the device in the chosen color. The lower section features the device’s name, Xros 4.

The back of the box lists the kit contents, some warnings, contact addresses, and a bar code specifying the color.

In the box:

  • 1 Xros 4
  • 1 Xros Series 0.4Ω Mesh Pod
  • 1 Xros Series 0.8Ω Mesh Pod
  • 1 Type-C Charging Cable
  • 1 Reminder Card
  • 1 User Manual

Device Inspection

The first noticeable aspect is the color finish. Vaporesso has clearly invested in making the paint on their products look premium. My review unit is in Sunset Neon, a beautiful blend of purple and yellow.

In the center of the device, there is an oval area housing a circular button and a screen. The materials used are an aluminum alloy, ensuring durability. The lower part of the device features the Vaporesso branding.

Screen and Button Functions

The screen has a small circle that changes color with each puff, indicating the battery level:

  • Green: 100-70%
  • Blue: 70-30%
  • Red: 30-0%

The button functions are straightforward:

  • 5 clicks: Power on/off
  • 4 clicks: Lock the button
  • 3 clicks: Change power mode

The screen also displays a flame indicating the power mode, with the highest mode at full flame (estimated 30W).

Sides and Rear

The sides of the device have a rectangular shape with rounded edges. One side houses the Type-C charging port, which supports 2A fast charging, fully charging the device in about 40 minutes.

The rear features an air inlet and adjustable airflow, with two holes that can be completely closed for a restricted MTL vape. The design is stable and well-executed.

Pod-Battery Connection

The connection between the pod and battery is magnetic, ensuring a secure fit. Refilling the pod is simple; just remove the top cap and fill through the red hole. The pods have a 3ml capacity.

Vaping Experience

Now for the vaping test. I’ll share my thoughts on the 0.4Ω and 0.8Ω cartridges, battery life, and overall hand feel.

0.4Ω Cartridge

The 0.4Ω coil delivers excellent flavor, characteristic of the XROS series, focusing on flavor rather than vapor production.

0.8Ω Cartridge

The 0.8Ω cartridge offers a more MTL-oriented vape with some airflow, but I personally prefer the 0.4Ω.

Hand Feel and Battery Life

The device is extremely light and ergonomic, providing great comfort in hand. It offers three power modes and adjustable airflow, making it versatile. Battery life varies by user, but it lasts almost a full day for me, which is impressive given its 1000mAh capacity.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Versatile device
  • Perfect design
  • Amazing flavor
  • Fast charging
  • Top refill mechanism

Cons:

  • The airflow adjustment could use more resistance for stability.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Vaporesso has done a commendable job with the Xros 4. However, given the choice, I would still prefer the Xros Pro as it offers more enhanced features and overall performance. Nonetheless, the Xros 4 remains a solid, lightweight, and flavorful device, offering excellent value for money.
